Meghalaya constitutes State level Task Force for promoting Meghalaya as a ‘film destination’

In Meghalaya the state government constituted a State level Task Force for promoting Meghalaya as a ‘film destination’ in north east. Commissioner and Secretary (Industries Department) and convener of the Task Force Mr A. Som said in this connection a notification was issued on Tuesday .The State Task Force will prepare the policy for branding Meghalaya as the film destination. He said that the state industry department has been entrusted with the task to prepare a catalogue for promotional activities. Mr Som informed that the state industry department will also explore the possibility of setting up of a Film City on the line of Film City in Mumbai and Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.<br/>The Task Force has been constituted following the recent visit of the Chief Minister to Mumbai. The State Chief Minister Dr DD Lapang will be its chairman of the Task Force besides. The government also declared that filmmaker N Chandra and Shyam Bengal, Sunil Shetty actor are the members of the Task Force. Yash Chopra, a renowned and successful filmmaker of Bollywood will be the special invitee to the Task Force.
