In Meghalaya, the Congress Legislature Party is meeting tonight in the state capital Shillong to elect its new leader. <br/><br/>The move comes after senior congress leader Dr. D D Lapang resigned as CLP leader on Sunday evening. <br/><br/>Dr. Mukul Sangma another senior congress leader from west Garo hills district is likely to be elected as successor of Dr Lapang tonight. <br/><br/>The eleven month old government under the leadership of Dr. Lapang came under crisis after more than a dozen MLAs revolted against his leadership on the issue of cabinet berths. <br/><br/>However the alliance partners of Congress said it is an internal problem of congress and they will continue their support whoever may be elected as the leader of the congress legislature party.
