Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has informed that they have received preliminary reports that two bodies have been spotted.<br />'' <br />''A team of Indian Navy, National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force and other rescue teams have been deployed to extract the trapped miners since five coal miners got trapped in a rat-hole mine in Umpleng in East Jaintia Hills since May 30.<br />'' <br />''The Chief Minister said, "I have received the information through Whatsapp but not in writing as yet that two bodies have been spotted. We have received the message unofficially and we are waiting for official communication in writing from the Deputy Commissioner, so we will have to wait and see." He added that the Indian Navy and other teams are working day and night on the rescue mission.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The incident has once again revealed that illegal coal mining continues to this day.
