Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma today presented the budget amounting to 17,375 crore rupees for the year 2020-21 with a fiscal deficit of 1,532 crore rupees, which is around 3.53 percent of the GSDP.<br />'' <br />'' Presenting the budget, the Chief Minister, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said the budget focuses on – education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, air and surface connectivity, promoting entrepreneurship, tourism, uplifting rural economy, etc with a view to take State on the path of development.<br />'' <br />'' The Chief Minister said that the estimated total receipt is at 17,375 crore rupees of which Revenue receipts are estimated at 15, 353 crore rupees and the total receipts are estimated to be at 15, 830 crore rupees excluding borrowings of 1,995 crore rupees.<br />'' <br />'' On the expenditure side, the total expenditure was estimated at 17,432 crore rupees, of which the revenue expenditure is estimated at 14, 428 crore rupees and capital expenditure at 3,004 crore rupees. Besides the budget, several other Bills and annual reports were brought up in the concluding day of the budget session which got cut short in view of the COVID-19 outbreak. Among them included Meghalaya Identification, Registration (Safety & Security) of Migrant Workers Bill 2020 besides other.<br />'' <br />'' Later the Speaker of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Metbah Lyngdoh adjourned the House sine-die.<br />''
