<span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, who holds the finance portfolio, presented the budget of 2019-20 in the ongoing assembly session today with a fiscal deficit of 1323 crore rupees, which is around 3.65 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As per the budget estimates for 2019-20, excluding borrowings, the total receipt stood at 14463 crore rupees.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The total expenditure, excluding repayment of loans, was estimated at 15786 crore rupees, thus leaving a deficit of 1323 crore rupees.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It has been estimated that the revenue collection of the State would increase during 2019-20. It is estimated that 2090 crore rupees for tax revenue collection and 601 crore rupees for non-tax revenue collection would be generated.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The chief minister said that during the current financial year, systematic efforts are being made towards improving the tax and non-tax revenues.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The revenue collected by the taxation department is expected to touch 1478 crore rupees by the end of this year, thus registering a growth rate of 15 per cent.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The overall tax revenue including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Excise and Motor Vehicle Taxes is estimated at 1716 crore rupees for 2018-19.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Chief Minister said that for the year 2017-18 the GSDP at current market price was 29864 crore rupees, which shows an increase of 10.33 per cent over the previous year.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The advance estimates indicate that the GSDP for 2018-19 is 32972 crore rupees, which is an increase of 10.41 per cent over 2017-18.</span><br />
