Meghalaya CM Lapang calls upon students to work for India's progress

The Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang has called upon students to work for countries’ progress and economic freedom. Dr Lapang was addressing the 5th convocation of Sam Higginbottom Institute of agriculture Technology & Sciences in Naini at Allahabad today.<br/><br/>While giving away medals to meritorious students Dr Lapang recalled the contribution of Allahabad in the freedom struggle and said that even though we have got political freedom but the struggle for economic development is still ongoing Underling the importance of agriculture Dr Laapng said this institute has been playing a significant role in agriculture and rural development which is also a right tribute to its founder Dr Sam Higginbottom. <br/><br/>On this occasion the institute also conferred the honorary degree of Philosophy (Honoris cause) to Dr D D Lapang and also Rev Purely Lyngdoh.<br/>
