The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad K Sangma on 04/03/2024  inaugurated the Chitmnag Chaiwat Multi-Purpose Water Reservoir at Badri Rongdong South Garo Hills District in the presence of Education Minister Shri R.A.Sangma and Shri Marcuise N Marak Minister incharge of Soil and Water Conservation.<br />''<br />''The Chief Minister while speaking on the occasion expressed his gratitude towards the Minister of Soil & Water Conservation Department, the Director and the Officers of the Department in successfully implementation of this beautiful project.  Besides the Minister announced while accepting the suggestion given by  the Soil and Water Conservation Minister Shri Marcuise Marak to name this Water Reservoir Park after his late father late  Shri P A Sangma as to commemorate his 8th Death Anniversary.<br />''<br />''He further stated the need to upgrade this Water Reservoir area as park for children also to transform it into complete tourist attraction site with fooding and lodging facilities.<br />''<br />''He also said that one such project has been open in Mawrah in East Khasi Hills likewise, " We will be creating many such Reservoirs with multiple objective of Water Conservation,  water security, tourism and other kind of activities for building the Livelihood of the people around Water bodies that have been created.<br />''<br />''He further congratulated the Department for their excellent work and urged them to continue doing the work in such a committed manner so that more of such Reservoir will come up in different parts of the state and the people would be benefited with such kind of project with an assurance to provide full support from his side. <br />
