<span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya celebrated its 49th Statehood day today at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong with an array of cultural programs in a subtle manner unlike yesteryears. The State gained its Statehood day on this very day in 1972 under the North Eastern Areas (Re-organisation) Act, 1971 along with Manipur and Tripura.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma who spoke at the occasion reminded each and every citizen of the State to honour the past leaders who were responsible and played an important role in making Meghalaya a full-fledged State. The Chief Minister highlighted various achievements the State has made in the past 49 years of its existence. He stated that the Meghalaya Government is at the forefront of fully implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission by the end of 2022 which will help all the citizens in many ways.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
