Meghalaya budget session begins

In Meghalaya, the budget session of the state legislative assembly started on Friday. On the day one of the eleven day session, the state chief minister Dr. Mukul Sangma laid the report of the Comptroller and Audit General of India. <br/> <br/>The house also paid obituaries to the Governor of Rajastan, Prava Rao and the former Vice President of India Bharon Singh Sekhawat. The whole house observed two minutes silence for the peace of the departed souls. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports, the report of the Comptroller and Audit General of India tabled today in the state legislative assemble picks a lot of whole in the functioning of the different departments. <br/> <br/>The report contains 45 paragraphs and two reviews relating to under assessments, non-realisation, and short realisation of penalties, taxes and duties. The report says total money involved in this context is to be to the tune of rupees 1 thousand 1 hundred 75.55 core. <br/> <br/>The department of tax, excise, motor vehicle, mine and mineral have been subjected in the audit report for under assessment and non realisation of revenues. <br/> <br/>The house is expected to be stormy on Monday and on wards not only for the report of the Comptroller and Audit General of India but also issues relating to Lanpih and other fronts. <br/><br/>
