The ongoing budget of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly passed the Meghalaya Appropriation Bill -2012 – 2013 to the tune of over seven thousand six hundred crore on Friday. Introducing the Bill on the last date of the budget session, Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma, who also hold the Finance portfolio said the Bill would enable the State Government to withdraw the amount from the Consolidated Fund of Meghalaya. The Assembly was later prorogued by the Speaker.
