The three day mega international meeting of the communist and workers' parties kicked off in New Delhi today to discuss global recession and find ways to stop its recurrence.Delivering the inaugural, CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said that the recession was inheritent to the dynamics of capital system based on human exploitation.The meet hosted by the CPM and the CPI has 89 delegates from 55 parties and 47 countries. The theme of the meeting is `International Capitalist Crisis, the Workers and Peoples Struggle, Alternatives and the Role of the Communist and Working Class Movement'. The meeting will end on Sunday with a public meeting and a `New Delhi declaration'. General secretaries of CPM and CPI Prakash Karat and AB Bardhan, respectively, will address the meeting on the concluding day. Our correspondent Manikant Thakur reports the group that came into being in 1998 at the demise of USSR and subsequent decline of communism in East Europe is holding its meeting in Asia for the first time. A working group of 11 communist parties of Cuba, Brazil, Portugal, Greece, Lebanon, South Africa, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Spain and India had played a crucial role in the formation of this group. <br/> <br/> <br/>
