Meeting on Telangana in progress

A meeting of major political parties on Telangana issue is now in progress in New Delhi. Representatives of the eight registered political parties, from Andhra Pradesh Congress, PDP, BJP, TRS, Praja Rajayam, CPI(M), CPI and MIM are participating in the discussions on the issue. The meeting is expected to device a mechanism and chalk out a road map to resolve the vexed Telengana issue. Ahead of the meeting, a series of consultations were held in the capital on Monday. The Prime Minister discussed the matter with the senior colleagues. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also met the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram. The TRS Chief Mr. Chandersekhar Rao has demanded that Parliament should enact a law to facilitate the formation of the Telangana state.<br/>
