Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhitoday began the task of analysing the outcome of recently held Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. According to the Congress party sources, newly elected party MLAs, and MPs from the state have been called for the two day meeting. This is the first formal review meeting of the U P polls by Mr. Gandhi who has accepted the responsibility for the defeat. Party chief Sonia Gandhi had in her initial reaction, ascribed the UP poll outcome to poor organisation, absence of strong local leadership as also to wrong selection of candidates.
