Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today said the medical services under the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will be extended to 35 crore workers in organized and unorganized sectors during next two years. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, the Minister said the services of the ESI will be extended to workers residing in districts across the country. Presently 2.3 crore workers are getting the medical services across the country. The Minister said a survey is underway to identify the exact number of workers in organized and unorganized sectors across the country. <br/><br/>He further said the Mobile Medical Vans and ambulance services will also be introduced under the ESI medical services. He said the Medical College being built at Sanathnagar in Hyderabad will commence its classes from September this year and children of workers will get reservation in admissions. He further said a Super Specialty Hospital will be constructed at Amaravathi and the existing ESI hospital at Nacharam on the outskirts of Hyderabad will be upgraded to 350 bed-super specialty hospital.
