In Andhra Pradesh, emergency medical services continue to remain affected at the Government teaching hospitals across the state due to Junior Doctors’ agitation.State Medical Education Minister Murali Mohan has once again called upon the junior doctors to call off their stir, while junior doctors are seeking clear assurance from the Government over their 11-point demands.Meanwhile, state Government has made alternate arrangements to run emergency medical services at the Government teaching hospitals.Medical officials and non specialist staff have been pressed into services to provide the emergency care. With over 600 such personnel being deployed at different hospitals across the state, the emergency services at the casualty and Intensive Care Units of various departments are partially being met.Following the Government directions to ensure emergency services, concerned district collectors are reviewing the situation from time to time and emergency services are being taken care of by even bringing in private doctors at some places.However, several patients had to face hardships due to inadequate critical care services at the referral hospitals.
