Addressing the Science and Technology Media Conclave on the sidelines of the India International Science Festival in Kolkata this morning, Dr. Surya Prakash said that the Media should highlight the people's needs like toilets, clean drinking water, transport, gas connections and other basic requirements. He said that Science and Technology has a big role for meeting these needs.<br />''<br />''Dr. Surya Prakash pointed out that media should make an in-depth study how these government schemes are reaching to the people.<br />''<br />''The Prasar Bharati Chairman also stressed the need for inculcating scientific temper among people to address various issues. He also informed the gathering that All India Radio and Doordarshan are mounting science-based programmes every day for spreading science education in the country.</span><br />
