Health Ministry has said that some media reports about the details of the meeting of Health Ministry and the Election Commission of India (ECI) held yesterday are far from the truth. These reports said that the health Ministry has suggested in the meeting that "COVID situation in the country is nothing to be worried about and there is no cause of alarm or concern in the view of very few cases of Omicron in the poll-bound states.<br />''<br />''Health Ministry said that these reports are highly ill-informed and misleading and have a very high tendency to start a misinformation campaign in the midst of a pandemic.<br />''<br />''The Ministry said that the Health Secretary presented the overall global and domestic status of spread of COVID, as well as that of Omicron in the country.<br />''<br />''It said that details were also presented on the status of preparedness of the public health response within the States for control and management of the increasing numbers of COVID cases. It added that the focus of the presentation was on the 5 poll-bound States and their neighbouring States.<br />
