Union State Minister for External affairs Gen. V.K.Singh inaugurated the Digi Dhan Mela at Jalandhar in Punjab to promote digital payment methods among consumers and merchants through the offer of incentives. Mr Singh appealed youth to come forward to adopt digital method for payment to bring transparency in the economy. MLA from Jalandhar cantt Pargat Singh was the guest of honour at the event.<br/><br/>The Digi Dhan Mela was organized at CT institutes campus in village Shahpur. Different banks SBI, IDBI, Central Bank, HDFC, AXIS Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Financial institutions, Telecom companies, Mobile associations, Accessory store houses, Khadi Board, Markfed, Verka and other departments have set up their stalls in the Mela.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that people showed interest in all the aspects of digitization and interacted with banks and other stakeholders to learn digital transaction methods.
