The polling for the Malegaon, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Latur, Chandrapur and Parbhani municipal corporations in Maharashtra was conducted today. According to the State Election Commission, SEC, 60 to 65% of voting was recorded in Malegaon and Parbhani district while Bhiwandi-Nizampur recorded 57 percentage of voting and Latur recorded 55 percent of voters turnout. Chadrapur recorded the lowest voting turnout at 45%. Except some incidents of lathicharge at Bhiwandi-Nizampur, no other untoward incident was recorded. The counting of the votes and the final results of all the five Municipal corporations will be declared tomorrow.
