Medical Council of India, MCI, has extended the date for consideration of permission to new colleges and renewal of permission for already approved colleges from 15 June to 15th July. <br/><br/>Accepting the proposal of MCI, the government has made it clear that the extension is applicable only for the academic session 2010-11.<br/><br/>The Board of Governors of MCI have been evaulating 87 recommendations made by the erstwhile council regarding the issue. In a letter to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Board said that they didnot get sufficient time to evaluate the proposals as they had assumed office only on 24th May.<br/>
