<span style="color: #222222;">Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai will soon appoint six coordinating officers who will be tasked to ensure continuous and unhindered supply of medical oxygen to hospitals across Mumbai as per their need. This was decided in a meeting between Mumbai's Guardian Minister Aditya Thackeray, Mumbai's Municipal Commissioner I S Chahal and Commissioner of the Food and Drugs Administration Abhimanyu Kale.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to an official statement, these officials will act as a link between the oxygen manufacturers, civic body, FDA and hospitals. Each of these officers will be incharge of four wards. Mumbai currently has 20000 beds earmarked for COVID patients across 150 hospitals. The capacity is likely to be increased to over 22000 beds in the next few days. The city currently has a requirement of 235 metric tonnes of oxygen which is likely to rise considering the surge of cases recently.</span>
