The election to the 272 wards spread over three newly constituted Municipal Corporations of Delhi today, passed of peacefully. Delhi State Election Commissioner Rakesh Mehta told media in New Delhi today that around 55 to 58 per cent polling has been reported. He said, the final figure of voting will be available tomorrow. Elaborate arrangements were made by the Commission to ensure free and fair election. Over 2400 candidates are in the fray. Both South and North Delhi Municipal Corporations have 104 wards each while East Delhi has 64 wards.These local bodies have been carved out from the earlier Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
