Mayor of Kolkata Shovan Chattopadhya has commented that illegal construction of houses is a major problem in the city. He said that corporation has taken administrative and social steps to tackle this problemes. Chattopadhya accused that illegal constructions, particularly in the municipal-added areas including Jadavpur has seen the maximum number of illegal constructions. He said, during the erstwhile Left-led municipal board maximum numbers of illegal constructions have taken place and these were regularized by the same board.
