Mayawati terms Bhatta Parsaul incident as political conspiracy by opposition

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ms Mayawati today termed the incident in Bhatta Parsaul village of Greater NOIDA as a conspiracy hatched by the opposition. Talking to reporters in Lucknow this afternoon Ms Mayawati said that the matter related with the compensation of farmers in Bhatta Parsaul was settled long ago but the opposition has made it an issue by inciting violence through miscreants in the village. She reiterated that the turn of events in Bhatta Parsaul is nothing to do with compensation to farmers.Continuing her attack against the opposition Ms Mayawati said that BJP has also ruled the centre for six years but neither Congress nor BJP worked for providing a national policy on land acquisition. She said his party and the government has written several letters to the government to bring appropriate legislation in this regard.She said the Centre has yet to distribute compensation to the farmers in lieu of acquired land for Rail Coach Factory in Rae Bareli. She appealed to opposition to raise the issue of new act on land acquisition and his party will be on forefront to press for the demand.Meanwhile almost entire opposition and certain farmers’ organisations have come out against the alleged atrocities inflicted upon the villagers of Bhatta Parsaul. The BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley is to observe day-long fast today while the congress has called for a state bandh which has evoked lukewarm response till now. The situation in Bhatta Parsaul village is however, is returning to normal. The Inspector General of Police, Meerut Zone Rajnikant Mishra said the villagers are returning home after the Saturday’s violence. He said section 144 will remain in force western districts.
