In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Mayawati sacked four Ministers from her cabinet Sunday evening. The Higher Education Minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi, Minister of state for Agriculture Education and Research Rajpal Tyagi, Minister of state for Backward Welfare Awadesh Kumar Verma and Minister of State for Home Guards Mr. Hari Om have been removed from the state cabinet by the Governor on the advice of Chief minister Mayawati. AIR correspondent Lucknow reports that earlier, the ruling BSP had denied party ticket to Mr. Tripathi for the next assembly elections. Several complaints against him regarding corruption are also pending at Lokayukta.
