Mayawati Govt. to move resolution on UP state division

In Uttar Pradesh, the Mayawati government today decided to propose the division the state into four new states of Poorvanchal, Bundelkhand, Awadh and Pashchim. This was decided at the meeting of the State cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati at Lucknow. Talking to media persons, Mayawati said, the resolution in this regard will be moved in the State Legislature during its coming winter session on 21st of this month and after its passage, it will be sent to the Centre. She alleged that previous governments of the Congress, BJP and Samajwadi Party have been responsible for the backwardness of the state.
