Mayawati government today presented in the State Assembly 22742.49 crore deficit tax-free budget for the next financial year 2010-2011.<br/><br/>Finance Minister Lalji Verma tabled the budget in the presence of Chief Minister Mayawati.<br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that he size of the budget is of 153199.38 crore rupees which is 14.6 per cent more than the current budget of the year 2009-2010. The budget shows the total receipts of 1, 44177.27 crore rupees while the total expenditure has been put to 153199.38 crore.<br/><br/>The government has proposed 402 crore rupees for newly initiated scheme Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mahamaya Garib Arthik Madad Yojna for financial assistance to the BPL families. Alleging central government for not providing adequate amount for scholarships for backward class students state government has proposed 1045 crore rupees under the head for benefiting 2crore 20 lakhs students. Similarly 400 crore rupees has been proposed for National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme with objective to cover 75 lakhs families.<br/><br/>The finance minister announced that 5808 crore rupees would be spent on construction of roads and bridges during next financial year. He accused the central government for not sanctioning 60 proposals of 1424 crore rupees under Central Road Fund submitted by the state government. He announced that E District scheme would be implemented in all districts of the state during next financial year. <br/><br/>Opposition parties have criticised the proposed budget terming it hopeless. <br/><br/>The main opposition Samajwadi Party has said that deficit of the budget shows that economic condition of the state is not good. Party has said that for the industrialisation of the state government has not made any proposal.<br/><br/>The Bharatiya Janata Party has said that there is no proposal for the employment generation and rural development in the budget.
