Mayawati directs officers to maintain law & order in view of Babari verdict

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati has directed the officers to maintain law and order at all costs all over the State in view of decision on Sri Ram Janmbhoomi- Babari Masjid case. The High court will pronounced its judgement on 24th September.While reviewing the law and order of the state in Lucknow today, Chief Minister Mayawati senior officers to implement an integrated plan to maintain peace all over the State. She also appealed to the people of the State to maintain peace and cautioned them to remain careful against the mischievous elements.The CM reviewed the law and order of all the 72 districts of the State. She also reviewed the security of important religious, social and historical places apart from other sensitive spots.The Uttar Pradesh Government has demanded a total of 642 companies of central security forces from the centre however the chief minster has said that only 52 companies of Central Security Forces had been allocated for Uttar Pradesh.During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the security of High Court campuses situated in Allahabad and Lucknow. The State Government had requested Centre to provide 29 companies of Central Security Forces for the security of both the premises of Allahabad High Court in Allahabad and in Lucknow.Meanwhile ,one of the three judges of the Allahabad High Court's special Ayodhya bench Justice DV Sharma today passed an order disagreeing with his co-judges on the question of exploring an out-of-court settlement on the issue and rooted for mediation or conciliation.In his order he has said concerned parties may file evidences by 23th of this month in this regard. He said parties involved in the case must be given the freedom to try and work out an amicable settlement. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court is slated to give its verdict on the title case on 24th of this month.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Justice Sharma has also said in his order that application moved by the Ramesh Chandra Tripathi seeking an amicable settlement of the case was not mischievous. He is also not in agreement with the ruling of his colleagues to impose a fine of 50,000 rupees on the party who sought a postponement of the verdict. He said it was not in consonance with law. He said he was not consulted by his brother judges before they passed their order; otherwise he would have expressed his views then itself.Justice Sharma had refrained from signing the Sep 17 order issued by the special bench turning down the plea for postponement of the final verdict.Counsel of the Central Sunni Waqf Board Jafaryab Jilani told our correspondent dissent note of justice Sharma does not affect the pronounced date of final verdict of the case as he has not said anything against the date of judgment delivery. He said order issued by the bench on 17th of this month will be binding on the concerned parties as it was delivered by the majority of the bench.
