The Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati today accused BJP and its leaders of playing hate politics in the country. Addressing a press conference at her party headquarters in Lucknow, Ms. Mayawati said that by depriving the minority status to the Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia, the NDA government headed by PM Modi is trying to deprive the Muslims and other minorities from higher education. <br/><br/>Refusing to accept the BJP's reasoning to do so for the sake of providing better opportunity for higher education to SC and ST candidates in these institutions, she said that it is a trick to snatch away these from Muslims who have only few institutions of repute in the country. She also supported the demand for reservation to converted Muslims, Budhists, Sikhs saying most of their ancestors converted their religion due to atrocities on them. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that she also accused ruling Samajwadi Party to be hand in glove with BJP for political gains alleging that both have started gradually to arouse communal passions ahead of Vidhan Sabha elections next year. She supported the demand of women who want to pray in the temple of Shani in Maharashtra, saying its a RSS mentality to abstain women from participating in religious activities. <br/><br/>She attributed Modi government to be a total failure on all fronts accusing it to apply RSS agenda to divide the country on communal basis. She said that senior ministers and MPs of the NDA are giving such statements which are extremely inappropriate in view of the interest of the nation. She once again severely criticised the law and order situation under the Samajwadi Party government saying its days are coming to the end and her party will form the next government in the state.
