After demanding creation of separate Bundelkhand and Paschimanchal states, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today shot off a second letter to the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh seeking carving out of 'Poorvanchal' comprising eastern parts of the state.This was disclosed by Additional Cabinet Secretary Vijay Shanker Pandey while talking to reporters in Lucknow. He said, the Chief Minister has requested the Prime Minister to give Centre's permission for creation of separate Poorvanchal state and expediting the constitutional procedure in that regard . She said, creation of Poorvanchal is necessary for better administrative management and keeping in mind the expectations and aspirations of the local populace. Mr. Pandey said, through a letter sent in March last year, the state government had apprised the Centre of its clear opinion on carving out a separate Poorvanchal state. He said, Ms. Mayawati in her letter has also requested Dr. Singh to get the required financial assistance sanctioned at the earliest.
