In Kerala, the CBI today filed chargesheet against five persons in connection with the brutal attack on Mathrubhumi reporter Unnithan that took place in April last year. Two suspended Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs, Santhosh Nair and N Abdul Rasheed, are among the five accused in the case. The chargesheet was filed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court at Ernakulam today. The CBI charged that the DSPs entered into a criminal conspiracy with the other accused, for attacking Unnithan, in connection with publishing news items relating to their licentious behaviour.
