The inaugural edition of the BPL T20 tournament has been hit by claims of match fixing even as it has just begun. According to Bangldesh media reports, Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza who is the skipper of Dhaka Gladiators had informed his team management that he was approached for spot fixing by a player. The reports claimed that Mortaza was asked to provide information on whether he would play certain matches and was also offered to be paid 15-20 percent of the earnings from the spot-betting. Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board's Media Committee Mr. Mohammed Jalal Yunus told ALL India Radio Correspondent in Dhaka that Mortaza appeared before the ICC's Anti Corruption Security Unit for a hearing on Friday in Dhaka and the allegations are currently under investigation. He said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board is viewing the matter very seriously and necessary action is being taken.
