The mastermind of Amar Nath Yatra attack Abu Ismail was killed alongwith one of his associates in a brief gun fight in Srinagar outskirts today afternoon.<br/><br/>Ismail, a Pakistani national was the operational chief of Lashker-e-Toiba who had led the attack on the Amarnath pilgrims on July, 10 along the Srinagar – Jammu national highway at Anantnag.<br/><br/>In this attack, 8 pilgrims had died and 19 others injured. Security sources told AIR Srinagar that Abu Ismail was killed at Nowgam area in the outskirts of Srinagar after security forces launched counter – militancy operation in the area after an input about his presence. The identity of the 2nd militant killed is being ascertained.
