The international film festival of india, IFFI has been throwing up exciting films and sessions. Sessions like the Masterclasses let participants do more than just watch films. A true cine enthusiast can learn the nuances of film making,  including acting, editing and other technical aspects.<br />'' <br />'' A Masterclass titled Sound Cinema and Experience was held yesterday by Sound designer Bishwadeep Chatterjee.  He has done sound effects for popular films like Bajirao Mastani, Uri the Surgical strike and Piku.  <br />'' <br />'' The Post lunch session began with Chatterjee allowing participants to take a 30 seconds long siesta. With eyes closed, he made attendees listen to the various sounds in the room.<br />'' <br />'' He told listeners, We are constantly interacting with sound, even while we sleep.<br />'' <br />'' The Ambience or the environment is an extremely important part of one's experience. It gives one a point of relation and balance.<br />'' <br />'' The award-winning audio expert said Sound design simulates reality to create an artificial environment,  which enhances the film viewing experience.<br />'' <br />'' For instance, Each city has a unique sound. Kolkata, the city that has featured in many of his films,  has trams.<br />'' <br />'' Apart from ambient sounds, he spoke of incidental sounds or Foley which complement visuals. He also told enthusiastic participants about the Evolution of sound in film. <br />'' <br />'' With the advent of technology,  he said the job of sound designers has become easier. He concluded the session by answering questions from the audience. <br />''  <br />
