The Government has said that massive training programmes have been undertaken for elite sportspersons to prepare them for Commonwealth Games. Sports Minister M S Gill said in Lok Sabha that excellent training facilities are being provided under a special scheme to maximize the medals tally for the mega sports event. He said, the government has even hired foreign coaches wherever required. 195 coaches and nearly 80 other technical support personnel are involved in the effort to provide intensive training to the selected core probable with exposure both at home and abroad. He said that as an incentive, the medal winners in the Commonwealth Games will be awarded cash prizes by the government. Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennell arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday night on a two-day visit.
