In Uttar Pradesh, polling for Mat assembly seat by election in Mathura district will be held today. Voting will start from 7 in the morning and will continue till 5 in the evening. By election is being held due to the resignation of Rashtriya Lok Dal MP Jayant Chaudhary. AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that about 2 lakhs 90 thousand voters will exercise their franchise at 286 polling booths to decide the political fate of 14 candidates. Massive security arrangements have been made for free and fair polling and central Para military forces are deployed at most of the booths. Borders of the constituency have been sealed and barriers have been erected to check the movements of unauthorised people. Counting of votes will take place on June 15. Meanwhile the election commission has announced that the Bye election for Bahraich Local Authorities Constituencies will be held on July 9. Notification for the bye election will be issued on June 15.
