The Bihar government has launched a massive operation to ensure free and fair assembly elections in the state. Director general of Police Neelmani told AIR that over two lakh fifty thousand trouble makers have been identified. He said, a strict vigil is being maintained on the movements of these anti social elements. AIR Patna correspondent reports that over ten thousand vulnerable localities have also been traced out. The state government has taken action against over forty five thousand miscreants so far and ten thousand cartridges and four hundred arms have been seized during raids. 15 illegal arms factories have been unearthed. Over one thousand three hundred cases of violation of model code of conduct have reported and FIRs have been registered in 626 cases. Most of the cases are under defacement of property Act. Meanwhile, Wednesday, is the last day for filing of nomination papers for the second phase of election in the state. 413 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers for this phase. During second phase of elections 45 constituencies spread over six districts of the state will go to the polls on October 24. Scruitiny of nomination papers will be done on Thursday and candidates can withdraw their nominations till Saturday. Filing of nomination papers for the third phase is continuing. 32Candidates have so filed their nomination papers for the third phase.
