In Telangana, a massive, Intensive Household Survey (IHS) is being conducted in full swing across the state today.

The unprecedented exercise will be completed this evening by 5pm on a mission mode to enumerate socio-economic details of each household in the state.

Over three and half enumerators have been pressed into service to collect data from about 82.5 lakh households in 10 districts of the state.

The government aimed at creating a common database which may be used as basis for extending the benefits of welfare programmes.

The State Government has declared a paid holiday today for private and government institutions and all shops and business entities are closed today.
