Five-time world champion M C Mary Kom settled for a bronze medal at the International Boxing Association's Olympic Test event in Rio de Janeiro. Olympic bronze medalist lost semifinals to United States Virginia Fuchs. This was Mary first competitive appearance in over a year. She had been laid low by a shoulder injury afterwinning the gold medal at the Asian Games in Incheon last year. In men's draw Manoj Kumar, Satish Kumar, Parveen Kumar and Shyam Kakara also bowed out after losing in the semifinals. This bringing an end to India's campaign.
