Mary Kom begins her hunt for fifth title in women's world boxing?

Four-time World Champion M C Mary Kom has begun her hunt for fifth title in style in the World Women's Boxing Championships. At Bridgetown, Barbados yesterday, she thrashed Lungo Vesenne Natalie of Sweden 10-1 in the first round of the 48-kg category. Dubbed 'Magnificent Mary' by the International Boxing Association, the 27-year old Indian will now take on Australian Jenny Smith in the pre-quarterfinals on Saturday. However, it was heartbreak for another Indian in the fray,Priyanka Chaudhary, who fought extremely well before going down to Asian Champion Zhang Qin of China 6-10, in the 54-kg weight category.Tomorrow, in the 51-kg category, Sarita Devi will take on Kuleshova Alexandra of Russia while Pratibha Jakhar is pitted against Jackson Cashmere of US in the 64-kg.
