M C Mary Kom advanced to the semifinals of the 48 Kg category in Women's World Boxing Championship at Bridgetown, Barbados. She beat Lynsey Holdaway from Wales 9-2. Among other Indians, Kavita also entered the semi-finals in plus 81 Kg category.
