Bangladesh today observed the Martyred Intellectuals day. <br/><br/>President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered tribute to the martyred intellectuals and placed wreaths at the monuments in Mirpur and Rayerbazaar. <br/><br/>In his message, President Abdul Hamid called up all Bangladeshis to be imbued by the spirit of patriotism of the martyred intellectuals and work together to build a knowledge-based society and a merit-based nation. <br/><br/> In a similar separate message, Sheikh Hasina said the anti-liberation forces wanted to deprive the nascent Bangla nation of its greatest wealth i.e. intellectuals, and urged the people to defeat the anti-liberation forces by getting passionately imbued with the Liberation War spirit.
