Marathwada region of Maharashtra receive heavy rain ahead of schedule

Marathwada region of Maharashtra has received the monsoon showers four days earlier than schedule. Almost entire region received heavy and wide spread rain.

Met Department on Saturday said southwest monsoon will hit Mumbai in the next 24 hours. The prediction added that rainfall is expected to be normal across the country.

Widespread to fairly widespread rainfall would occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, northeastern states, coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep from today till 14th of this month.

The south-west monsoon has brought heavy rain in south Tamil Nadu. The southern districts of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli are getting good showers.

In Rajasthan, monsoon is expected to come three or four days in advance. The normal timing of the arrival of monsoon is third week of June in the desert state.

In Gujarat, water harvesting structures are being set up in primary schools in Rajkot to create awareness about water conservation among students.
