Marathon gains popularity in Ladakh; Jigmet Dolma from Igoo village represents India in Bangladesh

<span style="color: #222222;">Ladakh is a very unique and tough place for long distance races. Marathon is becoming a very famous sport in Ladakh since last decade and becoming more popular after granting UT status to Ladakh. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, representing India, a young girl from a remote village of Leh, Ladakh brings heart-warming inspiration for the upcoming sportspersons of UT Ladakh. Jigmet Dolma from Igoo village represented India in the Bangabandu Sheik Mujib Dhakha Marathon held in Bangladesh on 10th of January this year and despite all the Challenges and temperature variation from -15 degree Celsius to 25 Degree Celsius, she managed to finish at 4th position.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Highlighting her journey from School level to international level of competition, Marathon runner Jigmet Dolma appealed to the youngsters of the country to practice tirelessly and be passionate to achieve their goals.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Jigmet Dolma also represented India at 13th South Asian-Games in 2019. She is also twice Bronze medal winner at TATA Mumbai Marathon in the elite category. Besides, she had won 7 Gold medals in the Ladakh Marathon and more than 30 medals in different categories at the different venues all across the country. Her achievements in Marathon career will inspire not only the budding sportspersons of UT Ladakh, but the whole county.</span><br />
