Marathon discussions have begun in Copenhagen in the final leg of climate change conference which comes to an end tomorrow. Several heads of the states and governments have already joined the summit level deliberations.
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will be joining the deliberations after his arrival later tonight. His departure to Copenhagen scheduled for this afternoon has been delayed following his special aircraft developing a technical snag. A standby aircraft is being readied to take the Prime Minister and his entourage for the Climate summit. Dr Singh is among the over hundred world leaders who are converging in the Danish capital to attend the head of states meeting.

The US President and the Chinese Premier are also expected to reach Danish capital .

Violent protests were witnessed at the snow-affected Bella Center leading to the most unruly scenes yesterday. The police said 260 people were arrested during the protests , in which demonstrators also tried to scale fences and descend on the conference center. The protest continued even today. Regretting the absence of an agreed text just a day ahead of the Summit level talks, India's Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said the entire process of negotiations have been very badly handled. After India's meeting with other BASIC countries – Brazil, South Africa and China – for almost three hours last night to discuss the plan of action, Mr Ramesh expressed hope that a draft will be ready before the summit level talks begin.
