<span style="color: #222222;">Marathi Journalism Day is being celebrated across Maharashtra today. On 6th January 1832, Balshastri Jambhekar, who is known as the Father of Marathi Journalism, started the first newspaper "Darpan' and since then this day is being celebrated as the Marathi Journalism Day in the state.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have greeted the journalist community in the state on the occasion. Lauding the achievements of Jambhekar and extending greetings to the journalist fraternity, Mr Thackeray in his message said, Marathi journalism has set its own standard in the struggle for Indian independence and developing a strong democracy.
