Former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran and his brother Kalanithi Maran today appeared before a Delhi CBI special court on 2G cases in connection with the Aircel-Maxis case and filed their bail pleas. Special Judge OP Saini adjourned the case to March 16 and asked the CBI to respond by then. The CBI counsel KK Goel told the court that the summons to the three India-based accused, including the Maran brothers, Sun Direct TV and a Mauritius firm have been served. Summons to the other four accused who are based in Malaysia and UK are in the process of being served, the prosecutor informed the court.The court had on October 29 last year, summoned the Marans, Malaysian business tycoon T Ananda Krishnan and five others for today, as accused, after taking cognizance of the CBI charge sheet filed in the case.
