Maoist’s threats are hampering the tourism industry in Jharkhand in a big way. Speaking to the journalists in Ranchi, the state Tourism Minister Vimla Pradhan said that although there is large number of tourists’ spots in the state, but the frequent bandh call given by the Maoists sends wrong message about the law and order situation in the state, which in turn affects the tourist inflow.Asked about the poor infrastructure at tourist places, she said that there is a need for all departments to work together.Official figure says, an estimated 66 lakh tourists, including foreigners, visited Jharkhand.
