Maoists today offered talks with Central Government, provided there is cease fire on both the sides. Top Maoist leader Kishenji said, the process of talks with the can only begins after the ceasefire. The offer came in the wake of the Naxals facing the heat of an imminent concerted operation by security forces. Asked to comment on the Centre's condition that the Maoists should abjure violence for any dialogue to begin, he said, government must withdraw the para-military forces deployed in the naxal-hit states. The Maoist leader told PTI over phone that the Centre will have to withdraw para-military forces from the seven states — Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal — and treat the problems of tribals in a sympathetic way. Asked about the West Bengal chief minister's visit to West Midnapore district where he is likely to announce a 1600 crore rupees package for the development of tribal areas in three districts, Kishenji said, the people of the areas are fed up of these kind of promises adding what the state government has done in the last 33 years is known to all.
