Maoists make additional demands for Italian’s release

In Odisha, additional demands have been made by the mediators appointed by Maoist with regard to release of the kidnapped Italian National Paolo Basusco. In a fresh statement, the state chief minister Naveeen Patnaik said he received a letter from Maoists for additional demands. He said the letter is being examined. Mr. Patnaik said the negotiation between the three top government officials and the two negotiators from the CPI Maoist for the Kandhamal abduction may be delayed because of the additional demands.

He further informed that his government has not received any proposal of negotiation from CPI Maoist group who claims to have taken hostage a sitting MLA of BJD, Jhinna Hikaka .
